In the valley can be seen Amares where vineyards produce Vinho Verde wine.

There are four villas in the property which share the garden, swimming-pool and barbecue area.

Casa do Forno - Two bedroom villa
This small house is very pretty with its own private garden and patio, overlooking the valley. It has one twin bedded bedroom with ensuite shower room. An additional bedroom with double bed with ensuite shower room is available and can be accessed from the garden.
The lounge area is equipped with TV/video and has a couch that can pull out to a comfortable double bed, if needed.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, cooker and farmhouse table seating four. The kitchen also has the original Minho farmhouse oven.

Casa das Azeitonas - Two bedroom villa
Casa das Azeitonas is a spacious traditional renovated stone house - the front of the house looks over the courtyard and the rear over the gardens and the pool.
The house has two large twin-bedded bedrooms situated on the groundfloor - two foldaway beds suitable for younger children are also available. Both bedrooms have ensuite shower room and patio doors lead to the courtyard.
The first floor has a large sitting room area with TV/video and a dining room with seating for six. The fully fitted modern kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, microwave, cooker and fridge.

Casa da Colmeia - Two bedroom villa
Casa da Colmeia is similar in size and style to Casa das Azeitonas but has a side view that looks over the valley - which is particularly beautiful at sunset.

All the areas at Casa de Penas have central heating. Air conditioning is not usual in the area since the temperature of the houses is always pleasant due to the thickness of the granite walls.

The old grain house has been restored into a games room with table tennis table, mini-football and card table with magnificent views over the quiet and peaceful valley. Wireless internet access is also available in the games room.

Laundry service and meal service with traditional local cuisine are available on request.

The swimming pool is set in a landscaped garden alogside a fruit orchard with many olive trees, some of which are as old as the Quinta. The gardens are well maintained and provide a nice shaded are for relaxing.
The size of the swimming pool is 13 x 7 metres and 0.50 to 1.70 metres deep and is regularly cleaned and serviced by an independent company.
The pool is surrounded by a traditional stone area, which is reserved for sunbathing and relaxing - the area is quite large and there are separate areas for different family groups to relax in private with an adequate number of sun-beds and umbrellas.

The garden area is open to all the house guests and can be used for sunbathing and relaxing - the area is quite large with many trees and bushes so wherever you choose to locate yourself it will be quite private and self-contained.

The farm has a very unique traditional water mill, now restored, which provides water for the farm's vineyards - the mill is only 300 metres from the house and provides a tranquil picnic or reading area.

A short drive away is the famous sanctuary of Bom Jesus in Braga and also the Peneda Geres National Park.
