The property is also located 2 kms from the village of Colares which is a popular summer resort and features a selection of shops and excellent restaurants. Colares is a demarcated wine growing area and lends its name to a famous robust, velvety red wine.

The main bedroom has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom. The large bathroom is decorated with antique tiles and has a traditional bath and heated towel rail. It also features a fireplace.

There is another double bedroom, a single bedroom and a separate shower room.

The large living/dining room features an open fireplace, comfortable sofas and a dining table seating 8 persons.

The common areas and bedrooms all enjoy from splendid views over the valley, the mountain or the sea.

The kitchenette and living-room have direct acess to the backyard garden. The kitchenette is equipped with 4 hobs, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee-machine and toaster. It has an adjacent breakfast room which allows dining for 6 persons.

The swimming-pool has to be accessed by stairs and benefits from the beautiful views over the Serra and the ocean. The pool is decorated with traditional portuguese tiles.

For golfers there is a driving range 8 kilometers away and some of the area's famous golf courses are only 18 kilometers away.

Quintal dos Pintos is a few kilometers from a supermarket, cafe and restaurants.

The international airport in Lisbon is approximately 20 minutes drive from the house.

Sintra has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In years gone by, Sintra was the favoured summer retreat of the kings of Portugal. One of the first sights which will greet you when you enter the town are the unmistakable landmarks of the tall conical chimneys of the National Palace and the glorious Pena Palace.

The lively seaside town of Cascais, with its beautiful sea front and the very ritzy town of Estoril, which has a casino, are approximately 15 kilometers from the house. Also, Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in Continental Europe, is 5 kilometers from the property.

The fabulous capital city of Lisbon is just 25 minutes away. This is a very beautiful and interesting city with much to see and do and you should take time to visit Mosteiro dos Jeronimos, Torre de Belem and the Monument to the Discoveries. Another must is at least one tram ride, which can sometimes be a daunting experience as the trams make their way up the very narrow streets and around the very tight corners. The trams will take you to most parts of the city, musts are Alfama, the Castle of St. George, which overlooks the city, and the lively Bairro Alto with its many 'Fado' restaurants. The new marina at Docas also has many restaurants.

For nature lovers, there is also the Sintra/Cascais Natural Park.
